E' passato un altro anno...anche da quando ho aperto questo blog!! Sono reduce da una quattro giorni a Londra, dove ho visto di nuovo "Wicked" e anche "Avenue Q"...sono stati quattro giorni bellissimi, grazie anche alle mie londinesi preferite che sono state un amore come sempre. Inoltre, all'aeroporto, ho anche trovato un paio di auricolari isolati ad un prezzo decente...il 5 Gennaio, quando suoneremo ancora al Black Cat con i Clistere, sapro' se ho risolto il mio problema con i monitor per le tastiere.

Another year has passed...it's also a year since I opened this blog!! I've been four days in London, where I saw "Wicked" again and also "Avenue Q"...I had a wonderful time, thanks also to my favourite londoners that have been loving as ever.
Furthermore, at the airport, I also found a pair of isolated earphones at a decent price...on January the 5th, when we play again at the Black Cat with Clistere, I will know if I solved my problem with keyboards' monitoring.

Live gigs..
Ancora un'altra serata con i "Clistere al limone", ieri abbiamo suonato al "Black Cat" a Caserta. Bel palco e bella attrezzatura ma io ho avuto, paradossalmente, un sacco di problemi...nonostante i monitor (una rarita' negli impianti dei locali) non riuscivo a sentire nulla di cio' che suonavo con le tastiere...la chitarra invece era a posto. Devo trovare una soluzione a questo problema anche se cio' comportera' comprarmi un sistema di in-ear monitor! La serata, comunque, e' andata alla grande e ce ne hanno proposta un'altra il 5 Gennaio...Yay!!

Wicked!!
Lo scorso weekend sono stato a Londra a vedere il musical Wicked...e' stata un'esperienza bellissima, ne e' valsa davvero la pena, non solo per lo spettacolo ma anche perche' ho potuto rivedere le mie londinesi preferite. Ho proprio voglia di ripetere l'avventura...
Last weekend I've been to London to see Wicked the musical...it has been an awesome experience, worth every penny, not only for the show itself but also because I've managed to meet my favourite londoners. I'm looking forward to repeat the adventure...

A new band...
Sono entrato in una band che fa cover di sigle di cartoni animati, i "Clistere al limone" e Mercoledi'ho fatto un'ospitata in un loro show, suonando le tastiere in un paio di pezzi. Ho ancora molto lavoro da fare nel preparare i pezzi e nell'amalgamarmi bene col loro sound ma come esperienza e' stata molto positiva!
I'm in a band playing cartoon songs covers, the "Clistere al limone" and, on Wednesday, I was their guest in a live gig playing keyboards on a couple of songs. I have a lot of work to do, learning the songs and finding the right place in their sound but it was a good first experience!

Long time, no see
E' davvero un po' che non scrivo, sono stato un po' impegnato...e poi in vacanza! Non sono riuscito a fare nulla in questi ultimi tre mesi, volevo registrare "The killing" ed "Il tuo mare" in acustico ma non sono andato piu' in la di alcuni provini per sperimentare la registrazione delle chitarre acustiche con i Samson C01. Spero di riuscire a cominciare le registrazioni vere ma prima devo risolvere un problemino con la 12 corde...

A new guitar
Ieri, dopo tante ricerche, ho trovato una chitarra acustica 12 corde che mi piacesse...l'ho presa all'istante e cosi' ora mi posso dedicare ad un paio di registrazioni acustiche che ho in cantiere.
Inoltre oggi spero di aggiornare il sito, ho scoperto che i link alla mia pagina su Vitaminic non sono piu' attivi. In attesa dell'aggiornamemto il link giusto e' questo.
Yesterday, after many wanderings, I found an acoustic 12 string guitar that I liked...I bought it at once and so now I can concentrate on some acoustic recordings I've been planning.

Mastering...
Le registrazioni per il demo dei Dica33 sono finite e cosi' pure il missaggio. Attualmente mi sto dedicando al mastering dei brani che credo saranno pronti a breve. Anche il brano strumentale (che finalmente ha un titolo "The trouble of love") che ho registrato tempo fa, sara' presto online dopo la fase di mastering.
Dica33's demo CD recording and mixing phases are finally over. Right now I'm getting busy mastering the tracks...hope they will be online soon. The instrumental tune (finally entitled "The trouble of love") I recorded some time ago will also be online soon after mastering.

Vocals missing!
La registrazione del demo dei Dica33 va avanti...abbiamo registrato tutti gli strumenti e ora restano le voci. Intanto sto faticando parecchio a dare una forma decente alle tracce finora registrate perche' hanno tutte qualche problema. Speriamo di riuscire a mettere insieme il tutto!

Recording session!
Oggi pomeriggio si va a registrare il demo CD dei Dica33 (in cui suono la batteria). Registreremo nel salotto della casa in collina del tastierista (dove proviamo di solito) in multitraccia, speriamo di riuscire a tirar fuori una buona performance e dei buoni suoni!
This afternoon I'm going to cut drums for Dica33 demo CD. We will work in the living room of keyboards player's house on the hill (where we are used to reharsing) in multitrack, I hope I'm able to give a decent performance and good sounds!

New gear!!
Ho fatto un po' di nuovi acquisti...due microfoni Samson C01 a condensatore, una cuffia AKG K141 studio, un paio di cavi. Al momento mi sono solo accertato che tutto funzionasse bene ma, tra un po', comincero' a sperimentare sul serio!!
I bought a few new pieces of gear...two Samson C01 condenser microphones, AKG K141 studio headphones, a pair of cables. For now I just made sure everything worked fine but, in a short time, I will begin to experiment seriously!!

Going on...
Credo di aver finito il mix...mi e' stato molto utile confrontarmi con i ragazzi del forum di UAR e adesso credo di potermi dedicare ad altro. Postero' a breve il risultato da qualche parte....restate sintonizzati!!
I think I've finished the mix...the advices from UAR guys have been very useful for me and now I think it's time to go on with something new. In a short time I will post the result of my efforts somewhere...stay tuned!!

Still struggling...
Il mixaggio l'avrei finito...ma non sono ancora soddisfatto. Certo suona meglio di tutti i miei precedenti ma se lo confronto con lavori di altri (anche homerecorders) sparisce. Vedro' di sperimentare ancora...
The mix is virtually finished...but I'm still not satisfied. Yes it sounds way better than my earlier works but if I compare it with others' works (homerecorders, also) it disappears. I will experiment some more...

Mixing...
Oggi ho messo mano all'equalizzazione della batteria del brano (ancora senza titolo) che ho registrato ultimamente...e' sempre difficilissimo per me, ma stavolta mi sono stampato un articolo di Rip Rowan da ProRec dal titolo Point to Point che e' stato prezioso per un quasi neofita come me. Speriamo di riuscire a fare un lavoro decente...
Today I started equalizing the drum tracks of the (still untitled) song I recorded lately...it's always so difficult for me, but I printed a Rip Rowan's article on ProRec called Point to Point that has been precious for a almost beginner like me. Hope to manage to do a decent job...
