Don Quijote

Ieri sera, con Umberto e Lorenzo Sorbo, abbiamo suonato un paio di brani (My dreams di Umberto e il mio L'America e'...) al teatro Garibaldi di S. Maria C.V. durante una maratona di lettura del Don Quijote in occasione dei 400 anni dalla prima pubblicazione. Umberto ha suonato il suo Grand Stick, Lorenzo il violino e io una bella Silent Guitar della Yamaha (per gentile concessione di Lorenzo)...ci siamo divertiti come al solito ma la cosa che mi stupisce sempre di queste situazioni semi improvvisate (abbiamo provato solo due volte) e' che riusciamo sempre a fare meglio di quanto i presupposti farebbero credere. Comunque abbiamo pensato che, con un ensemble del genere, potremmo forse sviluppare un repertorio piu' ampio da proporre ai locali; vedremo cosa riusciamo a fare.

Last night, with Umberto and Lorenzo Sorbo, we played a couple of songs (My dreams by Umberto and my own L'America e'...) live at Garibaldi theatre in S. Maria C.V. during a reading marathon of the Don Quijote celebrating the fourth centenary of the first publication. Umberto played with his Grand Stick, Lorenzo his violin and I used a nice Silent Guitar by Yamaha (courtesy of Lorenzo)...we did enjoy the show as usual but what always suprises me about this kind of half improvised shows (we reharsed only two times) is that we always play better than what the premises could make believe. Anyway we thought that, with such an ensemble, we could develop a longer setlist to play in clubs; we'll see what we'll manage to do.

Dopo qualche giorno di prove ecco, ufficialmente, "Life recording", un blog che sara' un diario (bilingue) delle mie esperienze musicali (ma non solo) e che sostituisce lo spazio "News" di questo sito.

After a couple days trying to get the thing to work properly here is, officially, "Life recording", a blog intended to be a (bilingual) diary of my experiences in music (and life in general) and also intended to replace the "News" section of this site.

Christmas blues

Oggi, in pieno "blues da Natale" mi sono rivisto il video dell'ultimo concerto dei Touch.it...me lo dico da solo ma, nonostante non fossimo al top della forma, eravamo un bel gruppo...

Today, in a "Christmas blues" mood, I watched the videotape of Touch.it last gig...I shouldn't say such things myself but, despite being a bit rusty, we were a good band...
